Astro Weather Report: Where are you hurting?

Chiron in Aries is opposite the Sun, (new) Moon, and Mars in Libra.

Where are you hurting?

Chiron, the mythical wounded healer, sacrificed himself to free Prometheus from his purgatory. In astrology, Chiron points to our deeper wounds, ones that we have to actively work to discover and to heal.

Right now, Chiron is in Aries in the 5th house. Aries is the ultimate individual, the fire of self-discovery and advocacy. And with Chiron, it points to wounds around not being able to be yourself, express yourself, or advocate for yourself. The 5th house, a very external and outward-facing house, may point to others suppressing you, or feeling like you can't be your authentic self in front of others - even if they have given you no reason to fear.

Some of this general energy is actually already present because of the interactions of Venus, Mars, and Mercury retrograde (see my previous post for more on that). So if you're really noticing a call for self-advocacy right now ... there's a lot of astrology pointing it out for us!

What happens when Chiron is opposite the Sun, (new) Moon, and Mars in Libra, in the 11th house?

Spotlight. Oppositions are a moment where energies are tugging at one another, asking us to consider both sides, as frustration builds up on who to listen to more. It takes a lot of skill to be able to hold many truths at the same time. But isn't a major part of being human figuring that out?

So Sun, Moon, and Mars in Libra - in the house of external face, public persona, how and where you meet people...

Sun: ego, self, identity;
Moon: emotions, intuition, inner landscape;
Mars: again, identity, action, strategy.

... and in Libra: justice, things coming to light.

There is tension between the wounded parts of ourselves that have perhaps grown resentful that we haven't been able to advocate on our own behalf. And that tension is itself building tension with the parts of ourselves who so desperately are seeking justice in both our external faces and our internal landscapes.

Sounds very Uranian, doesn't it? Boom crash bang.

Maybe (well, more than maybe) it's time to speak up, stand up, cut off what isn't yours to carry any longer.

This can take many forms, but I think it'll always route back to boundaries. Boundaries with ourselves, with others, with patterns that aren't useful anymore: saying no to that which disrespects us in one way or another.

As I write this, the Moon is taking herself out of the opposition, freeing herself from the tension. But remember those conversations you had with yourself about ways you treat yourself and how you sit on the inside looking out from time to time. Let the release of the Moon's tension give you perspective, but don't forget those feelings, which Mars is still ready to act on.

You deserve safety.

Oftentimes we deny ourselves that safety in order to fit some cultural norm. To seem agreeable. To be this or that.

But you deserve safety. Safety that truly feels secure.

One of my charges in life right now is becoming a better boundaried person. And it's no coincidence - now is certainly the time for it. Boundaries don't mean cutting yourself off from others, but rather connecting and communicating in a way that honors you and them. Your limitations, your surpluses. Your moments of need and theirs.

You are deserving of self-advocacy, dear one. You are deserving.
